Beijing authorities deny quake rumors

As earthquake rumors swirl in Beijing, Hebei and Inner Mongolia, seismological bureaus say no destructive earthquake are expected to hit in those areas in the near future, people.com.cn reported.
Quake rumors spread via text messages in the capital and several places in Hebei province and Inner Mongolia after a 7.1-magnitude earthquake hit northwest China's Qinghai Province and left nearly 800 people dead.
