On May 29 of this year, the World Steel Association published World Steel Statistics 2018, which ranked global steel companies according to 2017 crude steel production, and released the list of the world's top 50 steel companies. Among them, Liuzhou Iron and Steel ranked 31st with a crude steel output of 12.3 million tons, up one place from last year.
In 2017, the annual cumulative production of crude steel in Liuzhou Iron and Steel exceeded the 12 million tons’ mark for the first time, achieving a qualitative leap in the process of transformation and development. The annual output of iron, steel and steel products was 11.5 million tons, 12.3 million tons and 15.6 million tons respectively. The efficiency of production capacity was greatly improved and is the middle-to-high level in the industry and the best level in history since Liuzhou Iron and Steel was built. It once again demonstrates the fruitful achievements of Liuzhou Iron and Steel in the process of transformation and upgrading.
In the first half of this year, the output of iron, steel and steel products of Liuzhou Iron and Steel was 5,944,100 tons, 6,369,400 tons and 7,999,500 tons respectively, increased by 8.4%, 10.28% and 8.58% respectively year on year, and self-generation power of Liuzhou Iron and Steel was 2.256 billion kWh. Among them, profit and tax was the best level since Liuzhou Iron and Steel was built.
