Liuzhou Builds the Largest Railway Freight Base in Southwest China to Make Liuzhou Goods Go Out through Guangxi Port
Date:2018-04-12 Source:http://www.lznews.gov.cn

On April 10th, the research group of the People's Congress of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region came to Liuzhou to investigate on such matters as the promoting of the construction of the traffic channel to the south. The reporter learned at the research symposium that Liuzhou has been working with the Nanning Railway Bureau to create the largest railway freight base in Southwest China around Liuzhou marshalling station - the XI E Railway Freight Center, in which a railway supervision zone will be established and it is planned to open an inland waterless port (i.e., land transport port). After the completion of the XI E Railway Freight Center and the waterless port, it will become an important logistics distribution base along the traffic channel to the south.

At present, most products of foreign trade enterprises in Liuzhou have to be declared for export at customs of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other developed areas. The enterprises generally reflect the high logistics cost, few class lines, insufficient density, low service capacity and awareness of Beibu Gulf port, and hope to further reduce the price of freight rail line while improving the comprehensive capacity and efficiency of wharf of the port.

In light of this, Liuzhou Government hopes to start the construction of waterless port in Liuzhou as soon as possible under the overall coordination of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, with the plan to construct and operate a container freight transit station in the XI E Railway Freight Center, and open the Liuzhou-Qinzhou port container freight rail line (class line), so as to achieve the effective connection with the container liner in the Beibu Gulf port. It is necessary to issue a policy on fiscal subsidy for the upstream and downstream transport costs as soon as possible to encourage and promote Liuzhou goods to go out through Guangxi port.
