Recently, Liuzhou organized a series of activities to celebrate the nation’s first “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” and showed the city’s minority styles and the inheritance of the intangible cultural heritage.

The theme of the country’s first “Cultural and Natural Heritage Day” is “intangible cultural heritage protection—the practice of inheritance and development”. Liuzhou chose the Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County as the main stage of the activities. On that day, more than 200 embroidered women gathered at the Duoye Square in Guyi Town of Sanjiang County to participate the Dong embroidery competition. This “handmade and unique embroidery” traditional craft skill (national paper cut and embroidery) competition was held by the Municipal Bureau of culture, press, publication, radio and television in Sanjiang County, and the embroidery women who entered the contest all did great work to show the beauty of Liuzhou with their deft hands.

When the contest in Sanjiang County was in full swing, some activities were also held in downtown. The report performance was given in the Liusanjie Stage by some children; they performed the new learned Dong folk songs and Liuzhou folk songs for the general public. At the same time, in the exhibition hall on the first floor of the municipal mass art museum, the “Liuzhou intangible cultural heritage school” activity was undergoing to show the Dong wooden architectural skills. The municipal inheritor delivered the principles to the kids and taught them to build wooden models on the spot to help the kids feel the beauty of “intangible cultural heritage” at close range.
