2015 Promotion Conference for Rongan Kumquat & Launching Ceremony for Fruit Navigation of china-fruit.com.cn held in Beijing

On February 7, 2015, Rongan County, “the Hometown of Kumquat” in China, held the Promotion Conference for Rongan Kumquat & Launching Ceremony for Fruit Navigation of china-fruit.com.cn in Beijing, and promotion and sales exhibition for the high-quality kumquats were carried out on the spot. The event aimed to realize the farmer-wholesaler matchmaking, the farmers-supermarket matchmaking, and the online and offline sales of kumquat, as well as to bring high-quality fruits from the north of Guangxi to people in Beijing.

Located in the north of Guangxi, Rongan County is the best area for the growth of kumquat. With nearly 30-decade history of planting kumquat, Rongan County has 94,500 mu of planting area with the yield of 87,000 tons, accounting for 26.68% of the total in China. Rongan County has established and improved the system for the production and management of kumquat, including 7,350 mu of pollution-free production base for kumquat, 5,721 mu of production base for green food, a commercialization line for postharvest kumquats with over 150 tons of commercialized fruit annually.

Rongan County also continues to expand sales channels for kumquat by building the county-level e-commerce public service center equipped with a production exhibition zone, a business office, a storage & distribution hub, a logistics center, a product inspection and test center as well as sharable optical fiber broadband of 10-Mb.

As the largest production area for kumquat, the main planting area of “Rongan Kumquat” covers Dajiang Town, Yayao Township, and Banlan Town. Next, Rongan County will focus on the expansion of planting area for high-quality kumquat and high-standard fruit production. Based on the realization of standardized production for green food, Rongan County will also strive to step forward the standardized production for organic food and fruit, as well as align to the European Food Safety Standard System for Vegetable and Fruit.
