A Delegation of Senior High School Students from Kumamoto of Japan Pays an Exchange Visit to Liuzhou

 On August 9, a 14-member delegation of senior high school students from Kumamoto of Japan (“the delegation”) paid an exchange visit to Liuzhou. During their stay in Liuzhou, the delegation conducted a friendly exchange with Liuzhou No.2 Vocational and Technical School (“No. 2 Vocational School”). 

    Long Lingying, President of Liuzhou No.2 Vocational and Technical School, warmly welcomed the arrival of the delegation first, and then briefed the delegation on the campus size, existing majors, and outlook of teachers and students. Mr. Yoshida Jiho, Leader of the delegation, also expressed his joy for this visit and sincere desire for continue deepening the friendship between the two sides.  

    After the symposium, members of the delegation went to the folk costume workshop and the tie-dyed special studio of No. 2 Vocational School. They appreciated the traditional embroidery works made by students of No. 2 Vocational School, tried on special costumes of Chinese ethnic minorities, learned about the history and techniques of tie-dye through watching video and personally experienced the tie-dye production process.  

    At last, members of the delegation came to the dancing classroom and watched the classical dancing “Jasmine Flowers (Mo Li Hua)" displayed by teachers and students of No. 2 Vocational School, and finished the dance of Zhuang Nationality “Ballad of Bamboo Pole" together with such teachers and students dressed in folk costume.  

    Through this exchange activity, members of the delegation not only got a close understanding of the on-campus studying life in China, but experienced the featured traditional Chinese culture and excellent ethnic minority culture. Especially the exhibition of traditional Chinese handicrafts, such as tie-dyeing and embroidering, etc., left the members of the delegation a deep and good impression, deepened their learning about and understanding of Chinese culture while laying a good foundation for friendly exchanges between the two sides in the future.
