Secretary of Liuzhou CCP Chen Gang has visited Liuzhou Wuling Automobile and Liuzhou Chemistry Group to solve problems for the enterprises in terms of policy and environment. He emphasized that medium and large enterprise should be role models for others in second carve out and making contribution to the city¡¯s economics.
In Wulings¡¯s workshop, Chen asked details about manufacturing. For the first half of 2008, Wuling has achieved production value 1.868 billion Yuan (RMB), which is 71% of its annual plan. However its profit decreased as raw material cost rise. To tackle this problem, the enterprise has been working on production shift. Its origin Liuzhou Machinery Plant, an leading industrial enterprise in the province, has survived competition by production and technology upgrading.
After being told there¡¯s great market for the enterprise¡¯s new products dynamotors and rice transplant machines, Chen said delightedly: this is a pay back of Wuling¡¯s constant product upgrading, which is a key to all enterprises.¡±
Chen stated that as a 80-year old enterprise, Wuling had been remaining its competition strength by innovation and constant hard works. He said the second carve out is a requirement from the provincial government to all enterprises, as well as a great expectation from the public. Large enterprises such as Wuling should play good models for other smaller ones.
Chen also set a goal for the company: to become the fourth 10-billion production corporation in Liuzhou. And this is also a goal of second carve out campaign. Chen also called for everyone¡¯s contribution to the enterprise¡¯s goal.
Later on, Chen went to Liuzhou Chemistry Group. Despite difficulties caused by the snow havoc, the corporation has its best performance ever for the first half of 2008: an industrial production value of 1.138 billion Yuan, with a 67.78% increase compared to last year; a profit of 112 million Yuan, increasing by 60.8%. In its meeting, production upgrading was also raised up as a topic issue.
Chen said: Liuzhou Chemistry should evolve from a conventional coal enterprise to a modern multi-functional enterprise, with products ranging from coal, salt chemistry and other fine chemistry and industrial products. He also encouraged the corporation to be a good model for smaller companies. At the mean time, environment protection and emission deduction should also be focused as well as industrial development.
Vice mayor Cao Jingbiao and other government officials from related departments also took part in the visits as well as solving problems for the enterprises.
