37-year-old Zhou Dengning, who started work in Liuzhou Iron & Steel Corporation in 1989, has been working with coking for iron manufacture.
When talking about coking, he was very modest: ¡°iron making is the first issue; steelmaking is the second, followed by steel rolling. What we do is just a supplement for them.¡± But for the public, the process of coking is a major resource of domestic gas; and for other departments in the corporation, this can also be used in raw material and electricity generation, which is an important part of recycles economics.
Reporter went to Zhou¡¯s workplace and featured three scenes when he was working.
Scene 1: at 10:27am on 24th of April, Zhou was monitoring the coking process. He made adjustments to temperatures and gave advice to apprentices. What¡¯s more, he and his team developed the leading coking process approach in the country. What they have achieved is much more efficient than previous approach and can save much money than before. This has won him a title of second place in Guangxi Technology Innovation competition and has been applied to the whole corporation.
Scene 2: at 11:10am on 25th April, Zhou went to the 6th workplace of coking. The new workplace was still under renovation. Zhou said: the new oven will be finished soon. It takes 60 days to trial and will be taken into manufacturing on May 6th.
From a local iron and steel plant into a well-known national large corporation, Liuzhou Iron & Steel has made miracles and records, to which Zhou and his team contributed.
The coking plant has made a 6-meter-oven which is leading in China. The estimated production must be finished in 3 months and at the same time, the record was 6 months.
What they have achieved is still marvelous among their counterparts.
Scene 3: at 10:38am on 24th of April, coking was undergoing in the 5th workplace. Zhou commented on these newly-made coals. He can identify the level of coals by his experience.
As a leader in manufacturing level, what makes him proud is his team has made every technological innovation into production.
From Zhou¡¯s experience, it can be seen that every large corporation¡¯s development is made up individual employer¡¯s diligence. They are the real building blocks of social development.
No wonder when Zhou gave speech at the provincial Labor Day meeting he said: ¡°I feel the attention the government and the country paid to our ordinary workers. I¡¯m so proud of being a worker.¡±
