In the afternoon of February 27th, Mayor Chen Gang and other government officials from various departments went to Rongshui County to conduct works after the snow havoc. He emphasized the importance of solving people’s daily living problems and the shift from this to spring agricultural works.
They first went to vegetable field in Shuidong Village and talked to local farmer Lei Mingyou. Chen Gang told him to recover loss as the weather was getting warmer with more rain. He also asked local farmers about details and issues related to spring planning.
To difficulties farmers reported in terms of marketing and planting, Chen Gang answered them with solutions. He pointed that first, to build irrigation works is a good deed to the public and this would be supported by government; secondly, the marketing issue would be dealt by Science Bureau and Agricultural Bureau, with support of online sales source; thirdly, vegetable planting would be planned by the County properly.
In the sugar cane field in Dulou Village, Chen Gang asked farmer Mo Zuxiang what species of his sugar cane. The answer was Tai-sugar 19. Chen Gang was happy to hear this and guaranteed government support for large-scale farmer like him. He also talked about planting conditions, quality and quantity improvement with him.
Beside Chen Gang’s visit to local farmers, Acting Mayor Zheng Junkang also went to Sanjiang County to guide agricultural works. He asked them about their losses during the snow havoc and provided solutions for them. Zheng was happy to see newly-built fire-proof residential buildings for people whose houses were damaged by the fire last year in Ganchong Village.
Government leader Hu Jingchao went to Rongan County to investigate situation there. Gantou Village suffered great economic loss during the havoc. Fortunately, aids have been sent to the public with the help of people from all walks of life.
Hu then went to other villages to check the planting of sugar cane and mushrooms, while visiting retired soldiers.
Vice-director of Liuzhou People’s Congress Zhou Zhuoxin went to Rongshui and Liucheng Counties. He pointed the importance of equipment duration while working overload.
In sugar cane field, Zhou Zhuoxin called for instant sale of cut sugar cane waiting for customers before stale. He suggested cutting the sugar canes for better delivery. He also went to sugar cane processing plant and told staff not to overload the equipments. Besides, he went to other villages to supervise planting of tea and mini mandarins on the same day.
